Русский вариант названия этой книги получился, не спорю, красивый, но вот по-английски "Catcher in the rye" все же означает нечто другое. Когда переводили название, то внимание заострили именно на том моменте, что мальчишка, главный герой книги, мечтает работать спасателем, уберегая играющих во ржи детей от пропасти. Но это лишь отдельный момент, который, несомненно, имеет место быть. Основной же смысл в другом. "Кетчер" здесь - вовсе не тот, кто кого-то хватает. Это игрок в бейсболе (не зря герой книжки разгуливает в бейсболке), все равно как голкипер в футболе. Ну, а какой кетчер может быть во ржи? Естественно, никакой. У главного героя романа, как вы помните, все из рук валится, в чем он вечно обвиняет весь мир и нудит постоянно. Он - словно кетчер во ржи, пытающейся поймать мяч, которого не видно из-за буйной растительности. Их кетчер во ржи - это наш лыжник в луже. И более точный перевод названия этой книги должен звучать примерно так: "Плохому танцору кое-что мешает". (Нет, пожалуй, не пойдет). Или: "Голкипер в лопухах". (Тоже неказисто как-то). "Бейсбол во ржи". (Совсем непонятно)
